JD Business Empire

A Richmond-grown group of companies in property, retail, hospitality and logistics — run by people who live here, hire here, and plan to be here for decades.

About the group

One name, several businesses, a single standard

JD Business Empire holds and grows a small family of Richmond companies. Each one is run on its own terms by people who know the trade — but every one answers to the same standard: do right by the customer, do right by the neighbourhood.

What we run

The companies under our roof

Different trades, the same owners, the same word kept.

JD Properties

Residential and small commercial lettings across Richmond, managed directly — no faceless agency in between.

JD Retail

A small chain of neighbourhood convenience and grocery stores stocked with local suppliers wherever we can.

JD Hospitality

Cafés and a catering arm serving the high street and local events, run by people who actually cook.

JD Logistics

Local delivery and last-mile courier services keeping the other three — and other Richmond businesses — moving.

How we work

What doesn't change between businesses

01

Local first

Local suppliers, local hires, local decisions. Money made here gets reinvested here.

02

Owner-run

No distant head office. The people who set the standard are reachable, and they answer for it.

03

Built to last

We'd rather grow slowly and keep every customer than chase a quarter at their expense.

Our story

From one shop to a Richmond name

  1. The first shopA single storefront on the high street, run by hand, built on repeat customers rather than advertising.
  2. ReinvestmentProfits went into a second site rather than a bigger house — the beginning of the group rather than just one business.
  3. New tradesProperty and delivery followed, each one solving a problem the first business had already run into.
  4. TodayFour companies, one standard, still based in Richmond, still answering the phone ourselves.

Around town

What Richmond says

“They fixed a leak the same afternoon I called — try getting that from a national landlord.”

JD Properties tenant

“Still the only shop on the street that knows my order without me saying it.”

JD Retail regular

“Booked their catering for a work event twice now. Shows up on time, tastes like it was actually cooked.”
